今天是一年一度的Greater Yorkshire Memory meeting，其實本來是一年兩度的，不過今年四月的不知道什麼原因取消了，所以一直到距離去年舉行將近一年的今天才舉行。這個會議是我老闆發起的，主要的用意是讓在約克地區附近進行記憶研究的學者可以聚一聚，分享彼此的研究想法、新的結果等等。雖然我做的領域和記憶越來越遠，還是都有參加，畢竟是個聽到別人研究很好的機會，而且有時候都會有意外的驚喜。今天最大的驚喜就是聽到sensecam這個東西，它是個很小的相機，使用者帶在身上，它會隨著周邊環境而有所反應，只要有周邊環境改變（例如亮度改變、移動），它就會照相。正常的情形下一天會照幾千張的相片，然後有個軟體可以用每秒一張的速度來播放。它最神奇的地方就是可以協助老年癡呆症的人記住事情，而且研究顯示這個幫助記憶的效果非常的顯著。它的運作非常的簡單，就是透過迅速的呈現自己所經歷過的場景，然後透過一些線索就讓人們可以回復當時的事件，相當的有趣。做這個研究的老師和團隊自己很開心的試用，據悉效果非常的好，連一般人都可以用來幫助自己回憶某年某月某日發生的事情。明年微軟就要量產這個產品了，如果擔心自己會忘記所發生的事情，可以去買個來玩玩，整天帶在身上，所記錄下來的東西可能比你的記憶好很多倍:p 去看更多相關的報導。
又因為只要有強烈的環境改變，這個相機就會照相，那個學校的一個演講者就很調皮的在第一頁用了全黑的背景，第二頁用一個全白的背景，然後寫... Hello XXX I want to make sure I appear in your sensecam today. 真是相當的好笑，感覺那個團隊是個很happy的一家人:)

i know it's probably not the perceptions of memories that you're interested in, but this blog entry of yours reminds me of what I read from a book called _Einstein's Dreams_:

哈哈... 這很有趣，昨天我們在聽地下鐵的音樂，裡面有一句歌詞說: 沒有記憶，又沒有想像。我想到底記憶是個禮物與否，真的要看自己怎麼去衡量囉... 記得在中央車站中女主角說到，我不喜歡相片，因為這讓人們有理由可以遺忘，這和愛因斯坦先生的言論有異曲同工之妙啊
